Boudoir Marathon in Fredericton | New Brunswick Photographer Kandise Brown

January 10th, 2012

I’ve been considering hosting a boudoir marathon for the past few years, but never took the plunge because I wasn’t sure if there was enough interest in town. Finally, in the spirit of New Year’s resolutions, I decided to just go for it! I’ll be hosting a boudoir marathon on January 22, 2012 at the [...]

I’ve been considering hosting a boudoir marathon for the past few years, but never took the plunge because I wasn’t sure if there was enough interest in town. Finally, in the spirit of New Year’s resolutions, I decided to just go for it!

I’ll be hosting a boudoir marathon on January 22, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Fredericton. $200 includes pre-shoot make-up, a 40 minute photoshoot, 2 outfit changes, 20-30 proofs in a password-protected online gallery, and a 4×4 black leather mini album of your images… just in time for Valentine’s Day. ;) This is a marathon price only, and this the only marathon I’m currently planning, so jump on it!

(And if you’re reading this and thinking if only I was in better shape, stop yourself right now. The whole point of boudoir is to feel beautiful because of yourself, not in spite of it. It will be fun, and you’ll look and feel amazing. Promise.)

and that’s just a joke… you can wear as much or as little as you’d like :)

the wedding show | fredericton wedding photographer | fredericton, nb

Yesterday I took part in my first ever wedding exhibition! I was a little bit nervous in the lead-up to the show, since I’d never even been to one as a visitor before, much less as a “wedding vendor” – I was pleased to find out it was actually fun! I got to say hi to a lot of local wedding industry folk I’ve been talking to on Facebook, as well as meet plenty of new people. I have to thank Willow Paper Works and Fedex for delivering my enormous prints with ridiculous speed and right on time, so that my booth could be tricked out; the sweet cashier at Michael’s who slipped me a 40%-off coupon when I spent a small fortune on frames and easels; my fellow vendors in Room 204 who provided cake, comedy, and camaraderie; Rob for inviting me; and of course, extra big thanks to everyone who dropped by to chat! Biggest thank you of all goes to AG, who never fails to go above and beyond when it counts.

Congratulations are also due to everyone who walked away with one of my crazy prizes: Quinn S., Sheila M., and Cassie K. all scored free portrait sessions! (First timers always over-achieve, eh?) Look forward to working with you soon!

Here are just a few photos of my booth:

and one from when I went visiting everyone else’s booths! Thanks Michelle & Stephen!

I can’t believe how solidly I am booked for the month of October. I’m sitting here trying to plan sessions around back-to-back destination weddings, Run for the Cure, 3 family sessions, Thanksgiving, an engagement, and oh yeah, my full-time job, and thinking “why isn’t NOVEMBER a more popular month?” So I’m doing it, it’s happening, [...]

giving is awesome reminder | hibou photo | fredericton photography

October 27th, 2009

I’m back from my weekend workshop in Moncton, hopefully with a few new tricks up my sleeve. I’m hard at work this week with editing and a little non-photography-related home improvement project (involves a quart of paint) and have nothing to share at the moment, but I wanted to remind everyone out there that nominations [...]

I’m back from my weekend workshop in Moncton, hopefully with a few new tricks up my sleeve. I’m hard at work this week with editing and a little non-photography-related home improvement project (involves a quart of paint) and have nothing to share at the moment, but I wanted to remind everyone out there that nominations are due for the Giving is Awesome draw on Saturday! Yes, October 31 is this weekend! I can hardly believe it.

Additionally, as my personal calendar is quickly filling up with the approaching holidays, not to mention all the existing sessions left to edit and deliver, November 8 is going to be my absolute cut-off date for pre-Christmas delivery on regular sessions. Sessions after November 8th will be delivered in 2010. Thank you everyone for your business!
