One month ago today, perhaps to the very moment, Kate walked back up the aisle to cheers and applause – a newlywed. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and I was overjoyed to be part of it. Congratulations again to you both!

One month ago today, perhaps to the very moment, Kate walked back up the aisle to cheers and applause – a newlywed. It was an absolutely beautiful day, and I was overjoyed to be part of it. Congratulations again to you both!
My trip was very much a whirlwind, covering the southern half of Alberta from Calgary and Banff down to Lethbridge and Waterton, and all the way up to Edmonton, with a quick stop at Vulcan on the way. In that time I saw dozens of photogenic scenes alternately mountainous and prairie. Alberta is a landscape photographers dream, but I didn’t have time for the deliberate approach to photography. These landscapes are all shot out of the window of a moving vehicle. The 24 floor, round Chateau Lacombe is a landmark in downtown Edmonton, noted for its stunning views as much as its own unique impact on the skyline. I stayed here for four nights, but the glee of walking into the grand lobby (with a massive chandelier, you’ll have to check it out for yourself!) never got old.
