I’m a wedding and portrait photographer, and my style is a fun, fresh, relaxed take on documentary photography. My images are all about telling stories through genuine moments; natural light; great locations; and joyful, loving couples and families. I love what I do. Megan & Paddy got together on a Valentine’s Day, which I think is so appropriate for a couple this insanely sweet. It is incredibly obvious how in love they are, and their giddy, we’re-getting-married! joy is infectious.
This was a dream session. Great couple (who had no problem totally going for it in front of the camera), I felt really on, and towards the end the sky broke into bright evening sun so I could get that dreamy flare. Result? I had a really, really hard time choosing the images to blog. Megan & Paddy, thank you for being so great for me! It was definitely worth waiting the extra few days to get this magic evening. Courtney & Andrew are getting married in July, I’m going to be there, and it’s going to be awesome. However, while their wedding is taking place just outside of Fredericton, they happen to be living in Yarmouth, so when I firmed up my plans to go to Halifax I asked if they’d like to meet me there for their e-shoot. When they said yes, I was so excited (love that city; love new locations; love things going according to plan)… but it gets even better, because they actually met while going to school at Dal! It can’t get much more serendipitous than that.
I love the way these two interact with each other: so full of laughter and genuine, obvious affection. Plus they went from nervous to fierce in no time at all, and didn’t even flinch when they got photobombed by a wayward pigeon. Courtney & Andrew, enjoy your engagement photos! I’ll see you again soon :)
