This is a strange little short week for me, as I was away in Moncton for the weekend, and later this week I’ll be off again. Moncton was a good, low-key time – went to the farmer’s market, ate a lot of things (including delicious Cake Box cupcakes I always make sure to get), watched a few movies. Yep, it was a relaxing weekend with minimal opportunities to make compelling photographs. But there was an opportunity! So, here are a few frames from a very quick photo session I did on Sunday afternoon. I’m keen to share these because I realized that I haven’t done ANY portrait sessions with little girls in 2011! In fact, when I looked back at all my portrait shoots, I discovered that I get hired to photograph boys twice as often as girls. Hey parents, what’s up with that?

Little girls are cute. Especially this one.

I met up with Melanie, Adam & Noah last week, as we lucked into some fantastic weather that needed to be taken advantage of. I absolutely love photographing children at this age – Noah is 5 months, super alert, and so expressive (and SO CUTE!). You can tell that he thinks Melanie & Adam are [...]

I met up with Melanie, Adam & Noah last week, as we lucked into some fantastic weather that needed to be taken advantage of. I absolutely love photographing children at this age – Noah is 5 months, super alert, and so expressive (and SO CUTE!). You can tell that he thinks Melanie & Adam are really funny. You can also tell that Melanie & Adam think Noah is really funny. That’s how it works.

This was my first family portrait shoot in awhile, and it was so fun to get back into it! I think I went overboard a bit. Thanks for getting in touch with me, Melanie… I think your images will look fantastic on the walls of your new home! Enjoy!

I’ve been looking forward to meeting this guy for awhile now, and last week I finally got my chance.  First I spent some time with the whole family, and big brother Vinny (cute as ever!) showed off “[his] baby,” and then it was off to school for big brother and off to work for dad, and then I had some quiet time with Sal & Sam. It was around this time that I got overjoyed at the gorgeous light streaming through the nursery window, adding so much to an already-beautiful scene.

Footnote: Sal is at least twice as big as Vinny was at this age. His nickname is The Tank. You can see why.

Enjoy!

I met the St. Onge family on a winter wonderland-type day, with a fresh blanket of snow and more falling. Burton was a brand new destination for me, and I was so excited by that bridge! And this family… what a bunch of lookers! :D There was a lot to photograph since we met up [...]

I met the St. Onge family on a winter wonderland-type day, with a fresh blanket of snow and more falling. Burton was a brand new destination for me, and I was so excited by that bridge! And this family… what a bunch of lookers! :D There was a lot to photograph since we met up outside to capture some shots of the family and Amy’s little belly, and then home to warm up and do some lifestyle shooting. Isabelle demonstrated how she communicates with her soon-to-be baby brother… and then whipped out her own little camera. Future competition!

It was one of those mornings that gets you every time – the infinite blue sky tricks you into thinking that it is actually warm out, and then the cold air hits you like a ton of bricks. Ah well, the fresh blanket of snow and a bright sun over Oromocto made me very happy [...]

Ah well, the fresh blanket of snow and a bright sun over Oromocto made me very happy – lens flares galore! Thanks for having me over, Geneviève – you and your boys are beautiful :)
