This past Saturday some friends and I set out for a sugar bush adventure (a wrong turn at the exit made it slightly more adventurous than a typical pancake breakfast). At Dumfries Maples we had brunch in the shiny new cedar cookhouse, and then poked around the grounds a bit and observed the process of making maple syrup! The food was absolutely delicious, but I highly recommend choosing the 1-pancake option for regular appetites – those pancakes are a quarter-inch thick and the size of plates! And the maple butter… oh my.

I have been using Dumfries Maple for the last 5 years and I won’t use anything else. I use it in my morning coffee as a sweetner instead of sugar. I use it when I bake a ham or sausages. I also use it when I cook a pork roast, make spareribs or porkshops. I use it as a sweetner in all my homemade salad dressings especially the dressing for brochlii salad. The flavour of the maple syruip instead of sugar is absolutley awsome. Once you try the maple syrup you will never use sugar again. I buy the maple syrup by the gallon jug and put it in my freezer.
Not only is their maple syrup delicious but it is good for you . It is the BEST !!!!!!
