Dear March, You came in like a lion and are going out like a lamb, and for that I am happy. Dear March,

You came in like a lion and are going out like a lamb, and for that I am happy. Spring fever has somehow given me shopping fever, and I’ve had various small adventures, including trips to Dumfries Maples, the Nackawic axe, the farmer’s market, and Saigon… grocery. With the added light and warmth in the air, I’m having client meetings for 2012 and getting geared up for what the 2011 season will bring. The new place is completely unpacked and moved in (glorious!), and I even got in my first barbecue and ice cream of the season! Don’t tell me it’s supposed to snow tomorrow, la la la I can’t hear you!

xoxo,

K

I’ve been rocking the same logo for nearly two years now. I thought it was high time for an update, so last night – with all the feverish enthusiasm of spring cleaning behind me – I got to work. So here it is, my new logo. Clean, straightforward, and modern… with an edge. Just like [...]

This past Saturday some friends and I set out for a sugar bush adventure (a wrong turn at the exit made it slightly more adventurous than a typical pancake breakfast). At Dumfries Maples we had brunch in the shiny new cedar cookhouse, and then poked around the grounds a bit and observed the process of making maple syrup! The food was absolutely delicious, but I highly recommend choosing the 1-pancake option for regular appetites – those pancakes are a quarter-inch thick and the size of plates! And the maple butter… oh my.

March 21st, 2011

I can tell it’s spring. I see it in the way people are shedding layers, even though – if we’re being honest – it’s not really that warm out right now. I see it in the way the light in their eyes matches the added light each evening. I see it in the way my [...]

I can tell it’s spring. I see it in the way people are shedding layers, even though – if we’re being honest – it’s not really that warm out right now. I see it in the way the light in their eyes matches the added light each evening. I see it in the way my email inbox is suddenly blowing up. I see it in how when I went shopping for a BBQ this weekend, every model that caught my eye was sold out.

Well maybe not that last one so much.

Here are the tulips in my dining room. You can click on this image for a bigger version if you would like it to be your spring-time desktop background, as I have done. Happy spring!

On Tuesday morning I fired up my laptop in the traditional fashion, only to be met by a blank screen. One heart attack later, I was on the phone with Terra Consultants. As it turns out, the problem (graphic card failure!) was fairly mundane and easily fixed, it just took a few days to get the necessary parts in. That left me with nearly a week of running my business from my iPod (saviour!), and remembering what it is that people do when not online constantly. For me, it’s magazines. I’m obsessed.
