It should be fairly evident at this point that I simply cannot resist animals. Here are a few favourites from the Calgary Zoo, where I spent 5 hours and saw every single exhibit. I will spare you my shots from Prehistoric Park :)

Hi! My name is Kandise and this is my blog.
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer, and my style is a fun, fresh, relaxed take on documentary photography. My images are all about telling stories through genuine moments; natural light; great locations; and joyful, loving couples and families. I love what I do. I love taking awesome photos of awesome people… and I’d love it if that were you!
This blog is part business, part pleasure, and all me. It’s where I share images from my client photo sessions and weddings, the latest news and promotions, and tales from my personal life and travels. Poke around, check out my portfolio, and stay awhile. Keep in touch by friending me on Facebook and following me on Twitter… and don’t forget to drop me a comment: I’d love to hear from you!
Kandise Brown is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick and available worldwide. Now accepting commissions for 2012 and 2013.

paul’s 70th birthday | dieppe, nbJune 21st, 2010The weekend before my trip to Alberta I photographed Paul’s 70th birthday. Family and friends gathered to celebrate life (and fabulous weather) with each other. And with Chinese food. Lots and lots of Chinese food. Bon anniversaire! |

Hi! I’m back. Actually I’ve been back for a week, and if you pop in to the main page on this here fine little blog, you will see that I’ve been hard at work in that time.
The hibou photo blog has a brand new look – finally! I’ve spent the past few months pining for a blog that matches my website better, and more than that – I can now show bigger photos! Since I got to play with an iPad and saw with my own eyes the way my flash-driven site doesn’t work on them, I’ve added all the information from my website to my blog as well – see the pages at the top of the new navigation bar. This should make things more accessible to everyone, no matter what you’re using to surf the internet. Finally, I’ve also cleaned up the categories and tags to make the site easier to navigate. In the librarian world this is the realm of metadata geekdom, and it is a slippery slope.
…We won’t talk about that.
Anyway I have a lot to share in the coming weeks, including sessions I shot before and after my vacation, and vacation photos. (I am one of those people.) This is the Hotel Arts, a beautiful boutique hotel in downtown Calgary. If you have occasion to be in the city, I highly recommend it. A chic place to relax. And the breakfast buffet is fantastic!

pets unlimited | hibou photo | fredericton photographerJune 2nd, 2010I know, random. I didn’t go into the pet store with the intention of coming out with a blog post worth of photos, but somehow, that’s exactly what happened. I just can’t resist. Enjoy the mid-week cuteness. |
