Tears or no tears, this is one of the best photographs I’ve ever taken. It’s also some of that juicy 100 mm goodness I promised. This is just a sneak peek, but there will be more (many, many more) in due time, since this is one mighty photogenic family.

I’m home sick today (boo!), but that means I’ve finished this session in record time. Claire is a month old now, and soooo cute. She makes a good subject.

I’m back from Halifax, where I had a fantastic time as usual, and now I’m right back to work as I’ve been fortunate enough to have two awesome photoshoots in as many days. But remember how I said I was going to spend my money in new and interesting ways? Say hello to my little friend.

I used it almost exclusively in yesterday’s shoot, and the results are stunning! I can’t wait to share them. Things just got a little more interesting around here.

I’m writing from Halifax, sitting in a pretty sweet Eames knock-off office chair in an even sweeter hotel room. I’ve managed to find some time for editing in between bouts of spending my money in new and exciting ways, so here are a few pictures from the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival last week. I was attending as a regular spectator for the most part, seeing Ross Neilsen & the Sufferin’ Bastards, Joel Plaskett & the Emergency, the Strangeboys, Jill Barber, Michael Kaeshammer, and Hey Rosetta! If you were at the Blues Tent on Thursday night you might have seen me at the merch table, where I also got to enjoy solo Plaskett, JJ Grey & MOFRO, and Susan Tedeschi.

Rob, Annie & I met up on a perfectly sunny Halifax evening back in August. It was a beautiful day! And then 45 minutes into our photo session, the skies opened up and everything came screeching to a halt. Fortunately we got a shot or two before that happened, because Claire was born less than two weeks later! Annie & Rob, you probably already can’t remember the time before she was part of your lives. I hope these photos serve as happy reminders, and I can’t wait to meet the newest member of your family. xoxo.
