Ahh, the weekend is almost upon us. I’m looking forward to sleeping in, market samosas, reading, rest, relaxation, and editing more of these…

Hi! My name is Kandise and this is my blog.
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer, and my style is a fun, fresh, relaxed take on documentary photography. My images are all about telling stories through genuine moments; natural light; great locations; and joyful, loving couples and families. I love what I do. I love taking awesome photos of awesome people… and I’d love it if that were you!
This blog is part business, part pleasure, and all me. It’s where I share images from my client photo sessions and weddings, the latest news and promotions, and tales from my personal life and travels. Poke around, check out my portfolio, and stay awhile. Keep in touch by friending me on Facebook and following me on Twitter… and don’t forget to drop me a comment: I’d love to hear from you!
Kandise Brown is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick and available worldwide. Now accepting commissions for 2012 and 2013.

Alright. I’m cracking my knuckles and getting down to business. You’ve seen her twice already, but this is the big one.
Sam and I met up for her maternity session on a sweltering (but sunny!) evening at the end of July for what has turned out to be one of my highest yielding portrait sessions ever. Typically a photographer will deliver 20-30 choice shots to a client after a session like this. I got… well let’s just say more than that. Thank you Sam for being such a willing model! I really love what we came up with, and I hope you do too. See you in October? ;)

I have been on the road every weekend this month, and it sure is derailing my processing schedule. Tonight I have a shoot that I’m super excited about, and I’m generally keeping busy. Here are a few shots from my trip up the coast at the beginning of August; I thought I’d get some in now because this weekend I’m off on my 4th consecutive weekend getaway. New Brunswick is beautiful!

sam’s second look | hibou photo | fredericton modern lifestyle photographerAugust 6th, 2009Life is a whirlwind around here: just off the heels of a long weekend family visit on the NB coast (the beach at Bouctouche/Cote Sainte-Anne is officially the prettiest I’ve seen in the Maritimes), I’m headed out of town again tonight for a trip to Halifax! Life is a whirlwind around here: just off the heels of a long weekend family visit on the NB coast (the beach at Bouctouche/Cote Sainte-Anne is officially the prettiest I’ve seen in the Maritimes), I’m headed out of town again tonight for a trip to Halifax! It will be my first visit since moving to Fredericton and I am super excited about it. Just the list of places I want to eat is a mile long…
Anyway all this is to say that I haven’t had tons of time for processing, but I know Sam is getting excited to see more images from last week’s maternity session, so I’m dangling a bone here! I shot this laying face down on the ground but staring straight into the sun. It was worth it.

Hopefully the next time you see Sam, it will be a full-sized post. Drop me a comment if you’re reading!
